The Moon and Back is a feature film shot in November 2020 as part of Wayfarer Studios’ “6 Feet Apart” experiment: provide a few aspiring filmmakers with $50,000 to safely shoot a feature film amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Produced by Prodigium Pictures and directed by Leah Bleich, the film follows high school student Lydia Gilbert’s quest to film her late father’s space opera script with nothing more than an old VHS camera and a few of her unsuspecting friends.
The film stars Isabel May as Lydia Gilbert, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Missi Pyle (Galaxy Quest, Gone Girl), P.J. Byrne (The Wolf of Wall Street, The Boys) and Nat Faxon (Disenchantment, The Way Way Back).
I worked closely with the production team as the 2nd AD, and ended up wearing many hats on the production, acting as Talent Coordinator, Set PA and liaison between the studio and the production team on set. The Moon and Back is currently playing in festivals all across the country.
